HIFI ROOM

6 PM SESSION. Chess Records deliberately tried to market Muddy Waters to folk music fans with this 1964 release, an acoustic effort that came in the wake of a series of acclaimed electric blues records. The lineup is hard to believe: WIllie Dixon on bass, Clifton James on drums and Buddy Guy on acoustic guitar. The quality of the recording is shockingly clear and widely thought to be one that puts you "in the room" like no other. Sounds like it'll be a Klipschorn night! Released by Chess on January 30, 1964. Analog Productions AAA pressing.
