FAQ's

You've got questions? We've got answers.

Q: What is the HiFi Room experience at Shibuya?

A: A visit to Shibuya HiFi may involve three different sound systems, but the essence of what we do and the soul of our idea can be found in the Hi-Fi Room. This room offers the opportunity to hear music through a rare mint-condition set of Klipschorn floor stand speakers (circa 1976) powered by a rotating roster of vintage and modern amplifiers (2023 Luxman L-505uXii or our 1974 Marantz 2325). The room features ample sound diffusion, just the right amount of audio treatment and a listening environment appointed with fine handmade luxury furnishings. Please note there are no drinks and no shoes in the Hi-Fi Room — wear nice socks! Your reservation time allows for 30-minutes in our lounge to grab a cocktail or beverage before the session. Needle drop is exactly 30 minutes after the reservation time.

Q: Do you play full albums in the HiFi Room?

We host full album listening events, as well as curated artist and genre evenings, in the HiFi Room and the Main Lounge every week. Please find a full schedule here.

Q: Do I need a table reservation to experience Shibuya?

A: Table reservations are not required but are highly recommended. Walk-ins are welcomed. Our Hi-Fi Room features listening sessions every day we are open — please check the schedule here. Space is usually limited and reservations are highly recommended.

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located in the Ballard neighborhood at 4912 Leary Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107. There is ample street parking right in front of our business on both sides of the street and in the neighborhood.

A: We’ve put quite a bit of thought into showing you a good time in a new and interesting way. Look good, and feel free to express yourself. If you plan on visiting the Hi-Fi Room please note we will ask you to remove your shoes — so wear nice socks!

Q: What kind of music do you play at the bar? What records do the DJs spin at night?

A: Between 5 PM and 10 PM we feature records drawn heavily for our deep collection of Jazz. Our house DJs will also be playing an array of soul, funk, disco, hip hop, house and genres that defy definition. Always on vinyl.
